Welcome to Karen's Custom Painting

I specialize in custom painting of many kinds. This website should allow you to peak at some of the work I’ve done for clients mostly here on the Central Coast.

Back in 1998, I got into the business through the artist’s avenue with some hand painted items and furniture pieces that I had at boutiques around the area. After awhile, I showed my portfolio to some designers and they put me to work doing custom, freehand, painted designs in homes. My first job was taking the english roses from a Laura Ashley covered sofa and painting a swag over the arch in the formal living room. Shortly after, I met a man in the business whom I worked with for 3 years learning the trade of faux finishing. Eventually, I went back on my own and that’s where you find me today.

On occasion, you might find me in my art studio at 321 S. Main street in Templeton. I do sample boards, meet clients, and keep all my stuff there. I haven’t had a lot of time lately, but I used to paint canvases and watercolors. Maybe one day I’ll get to do more of that again. For now I’m kept very busy doing glazed walls, painted/glazed cabinets for kitchens and bathrooms and murals. I also do the specialty glazing for Sligh Cabinets in Paso Robles.
